2011 ENVP General Policies
All clients must be 55 YEARS OLD or older. A preference will be given to those 60 and older.
All new clients must be INTERVIEWED before any appointments are made.
Four (4) WORKING DAYS advanced notice is required for all service requests – Please make clients aware of this.
Absolutely NO NEXT DAY appointments. Clients being released from the hospital are an exception.
Boundaries for clients destinations are as follows: Campbell Avenue on the West, Fort Lowell/Camp Lowell on the North, Houghton on the East and Ajo Way/Irvington Road on the South. An exception to these boundaries are the Veteran’s Hospitals.
Priority transportation is provided for medical related transports and errands (pharmacy & grocery shopping). Other errands and transports are to be determined by priority and availability of drivers.
Only one trip per month for personal grooming, i.e. beauty shop, barber shop, nails, etc.
Housekeeping is limited to Light Housekeeping. Area limited to 3 rooms to include vacuuming and dusting. Wet mopping can be done in kitchen and bathrooms.
Yard work is limited to Light Yard Work only to be accomplished in no more than 2 hours. This is to include raking, light trimming of shrubs and bagging of refuse. No tree trimming or hedge trimming and no ground breaking and digging. During the months of extreme heat, (June, July, August and occasionally September) volunteers will not be ask to do yard work.
Each clients ability to get in and out of an SUV will be noted on the clients information card.
The telephone coordinators will check with Clients to determine if they have any special equipment needs such as wheelchair, walker or cane.
Cancelled or changed appointments are becoming frequent problems. ENVP will try to accommodate re-scheduling, however, there may not be an available volunteer driver for the new appointment.
Recipients must not call ENVP volunteers at their home or on their cell phones. All communications must be directed through the ENVP office. The telephone staff will be happy to answer any questions.
The above policies are necessary in order to provide better services to our Seniors.
